Beautiful and fully original steamer trunk.
This authentic traveller's case (steamer trunk) was used in the early 20th century to travel the world by boat. Travelling was then considered a privilege a was only for the whealthy. Back then people would like to travel in style and this translated into acquiring beautiful trunks like this to carry their valuable belongings along the journey.
This example is in original condition, and was manufactured by Josef AX In Vienna, Austria.
It has 5 drawers with leather handles and an extendable clothes hanger with curtain.
A truly beautiful piece.
It has a sticker which shows the owner has visited the Strandhotel Auenhof in Worthersee.
It also features the initials 'MP' - probably the initials from the owner.
Great as a display stand for a shop or as a decorative piece in any room.
